A Bay Area native, Renee was born in Berkeley, California. Born with a love and passion for dance, she started her dancing career at the age of three. Every store and living room was her stage. She dominated at talent shows and she was always ready for opportunities to shine. She started her own dance class by the time she was in 5th grade. In high school, Renee became even more curious about different styles of dance. She began studying Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Afro Brazzilian, Salsa, Meringue, and Polynesian. Renee’s confidence built as she performed at various events. As an adult, it was Renee’s mission to give back to the community by teaching low income and underrepresented communities how to dance. With a close friend, she started multiple dance teams in the community teaching a coed class of 70+ dance students different styles of dance, including hip hop, lyrical, jazz, and praise dance. Renee took these large classes on dance tours across the Bay Area and led them to perform at various events. Taking a break from teaching large classes, Renee started her own family. She has 3 biological children and through marriage, gained 3 more wonderful children. She, her husband, and their blended family now live and serve in Hayward. Renee is now a member of the Love Never Fails Dance team, a team made up of survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and other forms of abuse. She also mentors many women and children in the community and is excited to take on this new journey at Ray of Light Performing Arts.
